suggestion to meet with an
anti-nuclear group of
good repute, a meeting was immediately arranged with
the Union of Concerned Scientists which has a
membership of 100,000, 30% of which are scientists.
I had meetings with the following:
(a) Miss Regina Hamilton, special assistant to the
deputy director of Congressional Research
Services, who supplied me with useful "issue
briefs" on Chernobyl, nuclear plants, etc;
(b)
Mr.
David Thomas, tourist supervisor and
nuclear specialist at the Calvert Cliff
Nuclear Power Plant in Lusby, Maryland;
(c)
Miss Ellyn Weiss, general counsel of the Union
of Concerned Scientists;
