BUSINESS STATEMENT 24 JULY 1986 Southern Africa, Ethiopia, Nuclear Power Plant at Daya Bay, Visitors at Heathrow Airport.
1. Following the Business Statement Members raised the following points:
(a) Mr Kinnock requsted an early debate, after the
recess, on South and Southern Africa. Mr Biffen agreed to consider the matter through the usual channels.

Mr John Wilkinson drew attention to early-day motion 1105 and requested a statement on the villagisation of the Ethiopian people. Mr Biffen refused and drew attention to the statement by Mr Raison on 23 May.
Mr David Winnick requested a statement before the recess, on the Secretary of State's visit to South Africa.
Mr Robert Parry drew attention to early-day motion 1157 about the proposed nuclear power plant at Daya Bay. Mr Biffen agreed to refer the matter to the Foreign Secretary and would ask him to get in touch with Mr Parry.
Mr Max Madden raised the point about treatment of visitors, particularly Nigerians, at Heathrow Airport. Mr Biffen agreed to refer the matter to the Home Secretary.
