The locals whom we spoke to during the past week all recognised that the project was

as currently planned ultimately rested in Peking. They also recognised PRC needs for a nuclear power plant but did not think the choice of site at Daya Bay a necessary or wise one. They all tended to favour relocation of, the power plant further away from Hong Kong and suggested that the site under formation at Daya Bay could profitably be put to alternative uses.
