Respondents generally felt that construction of the Daya Bay Nuclear Plant would proceed as planned despite strong public opposition in Hong Kong.

The reaction to UMELCO's proposed overseas mission to study nuclear power stations in other countries drew mixed reaction from respondents. While the skeptic. considered this to be a waste of time and money, many felt that the trip could at least serve to gather more "tips" on security aspects of nuclear plants which could then be passed on to the PRC Government for consideration and action.
