It will be of the utmost importance for the future of the Daya Bay project that the UMELCO members associated with the investigations are well and carefully briefed by all the Governments and enterprises concerned. So far as the UK is concerned our officials will need to keep in close touch over the issue, and to give it the very highest priority. I am glad that your officials are in touch with their opposite numbers in Paris to ensure that the UMELCO team is sensitively handled, and properly briefed, while in France.
10. I am copying this minute to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Energy, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Secretary of State for Health & Social Security, the Secretary of State for the Environment and the Secretary of State for Scotland.
