GUANGDONG NUCLEAR PROJECT : VISIT BY UKAEA TO CHINA
DTI agreed to draw up in consultation with FCO a note covering the terms of reference for the proposed UKAEA visit to China, in particular to address the relationship between the proposed visit and the UKAEA's current remit as advisers to HKG.
I attach a first shot at this, prepared in DTI with manuscript additions from FCO. Whilst there is no immediate need to agree its final form, it would be useful to reach basic accord on the principles before Mr. Yaxley's visit so that he can be sounded out on our ideas. We suggest the line to take might be discussed further at the meeting to be chaired by Mr Morphet on 10 July.
