(iii) an early joint approach to the Chinese at a high
level by the British and French Ambassadors in Peking. They would urge the Chinese to adopt the highest possible safety standards at Daya
Bay: to take more effective steps to convey
this commitment to the Hong Kong people; to
invite Hong Kong representatives to an early briefing at the Daya Bay site; and to agree
that a British nuclear expert should visit
Peking for talks on the project.
