throughout the world. The UK would work towards the raising of international standards which would in turn lead to an increase in

confidence in nuclear power. He believed that the main result of the Chernobyl accident would be greater international co-operation

in this area than in the past.

Finally, the Secretary of State said that he hoped to pay a further visit to China in November of this year, and looked forward to resuming his discussions with Li Peng at that time.
