CHINESE DELEGATION TO STUDY NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS IN THE SOVIET UNION

ра

RAZ

18/6

1.

A Soviet diplomat told me yesterday that Vice Premier Li Peng had confirmed to Ambassador Troyanovski that the Chinese still wish to send a delegation to the Soviet Union to study nuclear power stations there.

2. The diplomat added that the delegation will leave for the Soviet Union towards the end of June and is expected to stay for about three weeks. It will be composed mainly of officials from the Ministry of Nuclear Industry and the Chinese Academy of Science. The Soviet said that he did not know where the delegation would be going to in the Soviet Union, apart from Moscow.
