HONG KONG: CONTRIBUTION TO ASIAN DEVELOPMENT FUND REPLENISHMENT

Mr Raison has agreed that we can authorise Hong Kong to contribute US$1 million to the fourth replenishment of the Asian Development Fund. Hong Kong's telegram No.693 of 5 March referred.

2. I therefore now attach a draft telegram to Hong Kong advising them accordingly, and also covering the point about how the Chinese authorities should be informed their telegram No.904 of 26 March refers. If you agree, I will arrange for it to be despatched. No doubt we should draft a piece of paper which could be handed to the Chinese, but I should appreciate your advice on this.

3. I will send copies of the original telegram and our reply to our Director at the AsDB so that he can advise the Bank as necessary.
