I attach a 1985 background note produced by the IFID on the Asian Development Bank.

Could you please update it as necessary. I should like to be able to attach the note to a briefing on Hong Kong and the ADB, which must shortly be submitted to Mr Renton for his participation at the forthcoming EC-Asean Dialogue meeting in Manila.

Grateful also for a short paragraph on Hong Kong's current obligations to the ADB.
