NOTES FOR SUPPLEMENTARIES AND WINDING UP
The operations of the Asian Development Bank
(i)
Ordinary loans
-
lending from ordinary capital resources (OCR) at a current interest rate of 10.5%; maturity of between 10 and 25 years, with grace periods
of between 2 and 7 years depending on the type of project.
(ii) Concessional loans lending from Special Funds on concessional terms:
maturity of up to 40 years with 10 years grace period, with only a service charge
of 1% (some earlier loans pre-bore interest of 2% to 3%).
(iii) Technical assistance services to member countries in the form of
consultancies, project preparation, etc and regional studies.
The pattern of Asian Development Bank lending
Up to 31 December 1984, 724 loans had been approved totalling US$15,582 million for 656 projects. Of these, 401 ordinary loans totalled US$ 10,677 million and
323 concessionary loans totalled US4,905 million.
