MAN MO TEMPLE (AMENDMENT) BILL

Amend the Man Mo Temple Ordinance and to make consequential amendments to

the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Man Mo Temple (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance 1986.

2. Section 3(c) of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after Amendment of "develop" the following-

section 3.

"or re-develop".

3. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 3 the Addition of new following-

"Powers of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

3A. The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals as manager of the Man Mo Temple Fund may do all such things as are calculated to facilitate, or as are incidental or conducive to, the carrying out of the objects of the Man Mo Temple Fund, and may for that purpose-

(a) with the approval of the Governor, acquire, take on lease, purchase, hold and enjoy property of any description and sell, let, license, surrender, exchange, partition, yield up or otherwise dispose of or deal with the same for the benefit of the Man Mo Temple Fund;

(b) develop or re-develop any property belonging to the Man Mo Temple Fund either alone or jointly with other persons;

(e) enter into any contract;

(d) with the approval of the Governor, borrow and raise money in such manner and on such securities or terms as it thinks expedient, and for that purpose charge, mortgage or pledge all or any part of the property of the Man Mo Temple Fund;

(e) engage any professional or expert person to advise it on any

matter.".

Section 4 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "temple and the Amendment of temple fund" and substituting the following-

section 4.

"Man Mo Temple and the Man Mo Temple Fund".

Paragraph 2(1) of the Schedule to the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Consequential Ordinance is amended-

(a) by inserting after sub-sub-paragraph (d) the following-

(Cap. 154.)

"(da) to exercise the powers conferred on the corporation by the

Man Mo Temple Ordinance;"; and

(b) in sub-sub-paragraph (e), by inserting after "development" the following-

"or re-development".
