Amend the Deposit-taking Companies Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Deposit-taking Companies (Amend- Short title and ment) Ordinance 1986 and shall be deemed to have come into operation immediately commencement. after midnight on 31 March 1986.

2. The principal Ordinance is amended in the Second Schedule-

(a) in items 1 and 2 by deleting "$45,000" and substituting in each case the

following---

"$50,000";

(b) in items 2A and 2B by deleting "$150,000" and substituting in each case the

following-

"$170,000";

(c) in items 2C and 2D by deleting "$7,500" and substituting in each case the

following-

"$8,500";

(d) in items 2E and 2F by deleting "$15,000" and substituting in each case the

following-

"$17,000"; and

(e) in items 2G and 2H by deleting "$7,500" and substituting in each case the

following-

"$8,500".

Explanatory Memorandum

This Bill implements proposals in the 1986 Budget to increase the fees.

payable by deposit-taking companies under the Deposit-taking Companies.

Ordinance.

2. The Bill has no Public Service staffing implications and will result in additional revenue of approximately $2.5 million per annum.
