House of Commons,

London, S.W.1

10th February, 1986.

Sir Edward Youde,

Governor and Commander-in-Chief,

HONG KONG.

Dear Sir Edward,

I would like to say how very much I enjoyed my brief stay in Hong Kong and express my gratitude for the hospitality given to me by the Hong Kong Government in the first part of my stay.

I would be most grateful if you would convey my thanks to everyone who made the arrangements for the visit, which was rewarding, informative and, I hope, useful to both sides. I think I should put on record that all the arrangements were absolutely firstclass. would also like to thank the Hong Kong Office in London for the help, support and advice I received from them.

I

For my wife and it was the most memorable occasion and I would be most grateful if you would pass on our thanks to everyone concerned.

With every good wish.

Yours sincerely,

L
