Palme

I mentioned this (as we went through the security check)

as a terrible event and huge psychological shock for the Swedes. Zhou said crisply that Palme had been a victim of his own style.

In such matters Zhou himself preferred the golden mean.

Zhou was out to please. Socially he was at his best. Possibly he thought that this would reinforce his chances of a

Hong Kong invitation.
