Dear Mimmster,
It was a very great pleasure to see you again during this week in London. I very much hope that General Secretary Hu Yaobang enjoyed his visit and that you too found it worthwhile and interesting.
I was very interested by our conversations, both at the Foreign Office and at dinner last night, and will of course reflect carefully on the points you made.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you most warmly for the kind present you sent to me. My wife and I shall certainly endeavour in future to entertain our guests at home with some Chinese warm wine, appropriately and elegantly served.
I hope that he
is as oncursful.
