agreement reached by GEC to supply equipment for the Guangdong nuclear power plant Daya Bay, worth £250m to British industry;

British Aerospace sold 10 BAel46 airliners, total value £150m in 1985 (following lobbying by Lord Young on his first visit to China);

Also in 1985 Short Bros sold 8 SD 360 aircraft, total value US$ 37m (contract value remains confidential, at China's request); - GEC Avionics have recently sold £30m worth of avionics equipment for Chinese fighter aircraft;

· Anderson Strathclyde last year sold £13m worth of coal mining

equipment.
