POST RATIFICATION CHECK LIST

FOURTH EDITION: DECEMBER 1985

The attached Check List has been compiled by General Duties Branch as a guide to the action to be taken following the ratification of the Joint Declaration. It is based on points identified in the course of the negotiations and subsequently. The list includes reference to items which will require attention in order to implement the Joint Declaration and to prepare generally for the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The list will be amended as new points emerge and action on other points is completed.

The Check List has been arranged in the form of the Annexes to the Joint Declaration with the addition of a General Section. Items have been subdivided between those requiring

early action i.e. action to be completed by end of 1986;

In some subjects action will span (a) to (b) and/or (c)
