Hong Kong Additional Instructions 1986
Amendments to the Hong Kong Letters Patent and Royal Instructions are published in the Government Gazette today (22 August).
The Hong Kong Letters Patent 1986 amends Article XIII(1) of the existing Letters Patent by removing the technical requirement for a Government Lease to refer to the name of the Sovereign. This amendment is made so as to enable the new form of Government Lease, agreed by the Land Commission at its ninth meeting, to be used.
The amendment does not alter the present legal position regarding the ownership of all land in Hong Kong.
