meeting): The require- ments laid down by local professional bodies for qualification as members should be retained after 1997. However, new professional bodies to be set up after 1997 will have to abide by the laws of the SAR when deciding their requirements for members.

BLDC member Lau Wong- fat: The BLDC special group on residents' rights and obligations will meet in July in Zhongshan County, Guangdong. He will again fight for a formal legal status in the Basic Law for indigenous residents in the NT.

The BLCC special group on legal matters (at a meeting): The future Basic Law should have an official English version. Some members suggest that the first draft of the Basic Law, too should have an official English version.
