suit HK best had yet to be studied. HK people should think carefully about the political system they wanted here because once the system was decided and written into the Basic Law, it would remain unchanged for 50 years.
Legco Unofficials decided at an in-house meeting on 18.6.86 to ask the Goverment to include a review of the number of officials on the council in next year's political review. The Unofficials were divided on the subject. Those supporting an increase in the number of Officials felt that it would improve the council's efficiency and that questions raised by Unofficials would be answered more
satisfactorily. Those who were against the idea said the proposal would be against the principles of the White Paper on representative goverment.
