(report) Four Chinese
BLDC members will arrive in HK tomorrow for an exchange of views with BLCC members.
BLCC member John Lambourn says that the consultative body's work is like "shouting in the dark" and its special groups are engaging in aimless discussions. The BLCC is not getting any response from China and lacks dialogue with it.
Law Officer (Special Duty) at the Legal Department Fred Burrows has given to BLCC for reference a list of the more important treaties HK has signed with other countries.
Appeal Court judge Mr Justice Yang (in a written question raised at a meeting with Chinses BLDC members) asks whether the SAR's final court of appeal would have the power to interpret the Basic Law outside the context of any particular court
case.
