BLDC member Xu Chongde: BLDC members in China will not impose their views on their

counterparts in HK in the event of a difference of views. Some provisions of the Chinese Constitution will be applicable to HK but some will not. The

The Financial Daily: The participation of Legco members and Government officials in the BLCC will have a positive effect on the

compatibility between political reforms and the Basic Law. As both will be based on public opinion and the practical situation here, there is no question of incompatibility between

them.

BLCC member Justice T.L. Yang: The BLCC should work in accordance with the Joint Declaration as the agreement's provisions on HK's legal system is already very comprehensive.
