Stanley Ho of the Real Estate Developers' Association: Lu Ping said the ownership, inheritance and usage of private properties will be guaranteed in the Basic Law.

An association of

lecturers in tertiary education institutes: The Basic Law should stipulate that the future chief executive of the SAR will be selected through democratic elections.

Leung Tin-wai of the HK News' Executives' Association: Lu Ping said freedom of the press in the traditional way will continue in HK after 1997 provided that it is not in any way detrimental to China's sovereign rights over the territory. The Basic Law may only incorporate the broad principles of press freedom and the current press laws may not necessarily be amended.
