REGISTRY Action Taken

Lee Kwok-keung of Wide Angle: Visiting Chinese official Lu Ping disagrees that press

laws should be written into the Basic Law but it will definitely

stipulate the freedom of the press.

Representatives from 18 major business groups with foreign interests, including the HK Bank, the Swire Group and the Cathay Pacific Airways (told Mr Lu Ping): The part of the Basic Law governing business and commerce should be drafted and made public as soon as possible.

Representatives of the alumni association of graduates from overseas universities (told Mr Lu Ping): A drain will again appear if HK people found the

contents of the Basic Law unsatisfactory.
