BLCC secretary general Mao Junnian: BLCC members will visit China in three

groups.

Ming Pao: The refusal by Senior Umelco members Sir S.Y. Chung and Lydia Dunn to become BLCC advisers will not affect the actual work of the consultative panel as

their views on the Basic Law can still be

canvassed by many BLDC and BLCC members informally.

Wen Wei Po: As the executive committee of the BLCC is elected by all members, it should be given the power to decide the panel's agenda.

(report) HK Daily News: A BLDC member doubted whether the BLDC will be able to draft a Basic Law which will be satisfactory to HK people because BLDC members have been doing nothing since they assisted in the formation of the BLCC.

BLCC chairman T.K. Ann: Senior Unofficials of Exco and Legco Sir S.Y. Chung and Lydia Dunn have turned down an invitation to become advisers to the BLCC. Sir S.Y. has indicated verbally that it will not be convenient for him to become BLCC advisor and will give a written explanation to BLCC later. Miss Dunn said she has regular contacts with BLDC and BLCC members and can express views to them at any time. Former Bar Association chairman Henry Litton has agreed to become BLCC adviser.
