An Ordinance to amend the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance and to

provide for matters incidental thereto.

Section 43(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) by deleting "urban areas" and substituting the following—

"Urban Council area"; and

(b) by deleting "elsewhere" and substituting the following-

"in the Regional Council area".

Amendment of section 1.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Health and Urban Services (Amendment) Ordinance 1986 and shall come into operation on I April 1986.

2. The long title to the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "urban" and substituting the following-

"municipal".

3. Section 1 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "Urban" and substituting the following-

"Municipal".

Section 2(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended-

section 2.

(a) by deleting the definition of "New Territories";

(b) by inserting after the definition of "public table tennis saloon" the following

definition-

(Cap. 366.)

**Regional Council area" has the meaning assigned to it in the District

Boards Ordinance;";

(c) by deleting the definition of "Secretary for District Administration" and

substituting the following definition—

"Secretary for District Administration" includes the Regional Secre- tary (Hong Kong and Kowloon), the Regional Secretary (New Territories) and any district officer;"; and

(d) by deleting the definition of "urban areas" and substituting the following

definition-

Boards Ordinance;".

Section 3(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) in paragraph (a) by deleting “urban areas" and substituting the following

"Urban Council area"; and

(b) in paragraph (b) by deleting "New Territories" and substituting the

following-

"Regional Council area".

Section 81(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended- (a) by deleting "urban areas" and substituting the following-

"Urban Council area"; and

(b) by deleting "elsewhere" and substituting the following-

"in the Regional Council area”.

Section 83A(2) of the principal Ordinance is amended- (a) by deleting "urban areas" and substituting the following-

"Urban Council area"; and

(b) by deleting "Director of Regional Services in relation to the New

Territories" and substituting the following---

"Regional Council in relation to the Regional Council area".

10. Section 104E(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a)

(Cap. 81, sub. leg.)

(Cap. 313, sub. leg.)

by deleting paragraph (e) and substituting the following-

"(e) in respect of any public cargo working area as defined in the Port Control (Public Cargo Working Area) (Consolidation) Order and in respect of any land within the boundaries of any ferry terminal declared under regulation 3 of the Shipping and Port Control (Hong Kong - China and Macau Ferry Terminals) Regulations, the Director of Marine;";

(b) in paragraph (ƒ) by deleting "urban areas" and substituting the following-

"Urban Council area"; and

(c) in paragraph (g)—

(i) by deleting "New Territories (excluding New Kowloon)" and sub- stituting the following-

"Regional Council area"; and

(ii) by deleting "Director of Regional Services" and substituting the following-

"Regional Council”.

11. Section 105F(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended---

(a) by deleting "urban areas" and substituting the following-

"Urban Council area"; and

(b) by deleting "elsewhere" and substituting the following-

"in the Regional Council area".
