The Secretary for Health and Welfare addressed the Committee and moved an amendment to clause 1 and the clause, as amended, was agreed to.

Clause 2 was agreed to.

Council then resumed.

The Attorney General reported that:

had passed through Committee without amendment and.

the ARBITRATION (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) BILL 1985 the EMPLOYMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL 1985 and

the MEDICAL REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT) BILL 1985

had passed through Committee with amendments. reading of each of the six bills.

His Excellency the President announced that in view of the fact that twenty-one Members had given notice of their intention to speak, he would on that occasion exercise his discretion under Standing Orders 9(7) and 9(8) to allow those Members such time as was necessary to complete their speeches, and such time as was then necessary for the Official Members to reply to those speeches, before putting the question on the adjournment.
