2. The period for the registration and

publication of the register of Regional Council

electors under the principal regulations, as

modified by these regulations, extends from 1 April 1986

to 2 May 1986. The register, once compiled and published,

will form part of the existing final register and thus

enable an early election to be held to fill the vacancy

in the Legislative Council caused by the abolition of

the Provisional Regional Council electoral college

constituency on 1 April 1986. For the purpose of

compiling and publishing the register the principal

regulations will apply, but with the necessary

modifications listed in the Schedule.
