(d) APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF SECRETARY

The Governor informed the

Council that the

Secretary of State had approved the appointment of

Mr David Ford to succeed Sir David Akers-Jones who would

be retiring in June 1987.

The Council placed on record its high appreciation

of Sir David's contribution to Hong Kong.

The meeting concluded at 11.48 a.m.
