information relating to the water supply situation on 1 November 1986 is provided in the following paragraphs.

Rainfall, yield and storage

The total rainfall recorded at the Royal Observatory from 1 October 1985 to 31 October 1986 was 2,294 mm (90.3 inches) which is 97.8% of the long term average for that period. The total yield over the same period was 290 million cubic metres (63,720 million gallons) which is 99.8% of that of the corresponding period in the previous year but only 63.1% of the long term mean.
