prestigious Second Harbour crossing project to a Japanese

consortium led by Kumagai Gumi. On a more successful note,

the company has provided approximately 25% of the equipment

for the important Castle Peak B Power Station project, a

showpiece of British engineering in the Far East. GEC have

lobbi ed for some time for HM the Queen to open the station

officially during her visit to Hong Kong in October. The

Governor does not agree with an opening by HM but has not

discounted the possibility of HRH the Duk e of Edinburgh opening the station on a solo engagement during The Queen's

visit. In early January initial agreement was

reached with

the Chinese covering the supply by GEC of the turbine

generators for the Guangdong Nuclear Power station. The

contract is valued at over £250 million.

Trafalgar House

The company through Gammon (Hong Kong) which is fifty per

cent own ed by Trafalgar House were represented in the Anglo-Japanese Consortium for the Second Harbour crossing

project. Trafalgar House are currently pursuing the contract

for the Boca Tigris bridge which i s part of Kowloon/Canton Highway project.
