Leading Personalitie Reports

1. In completing Annex B to Home Circular B 70/85 giving details of data held on computers and word processors in their departments, several liaison officers have revealed that they are holding Leading Personalities Reports which are classified Confidential.

2. Under the Data Protection Act, if any of the "Personalities listed were in the United Kingdom and asked what data are held about them, we would have to provide full details including any opinions stated.

All Leading Personalities Reports are held by the Specialised Typing Pool,, (Room 4M.205) on equipment which is not subject to the Data Protection Act. Mrs Aldridge the head of the Pool, can provide a copy of any report to a Department on request.

4. Departments who have copied Leading Personalities Reports on to their own word processors should arrange to have the data removed so that they are no longer caught by the Act.
