Many thanks for your letter of 24 April and your views on how we should approach matters of mutual interest concerning the Hong Kong records. It will be very useful to have the opportunity of discussing these points with you during your leave in UK. We might then produce terms of reference for my proposed visit to Hong Kong. Since you are likely to be here until mid-August it would probably be best, if it suits you, for the visit to take place towards the end of September.
