An Ordinance to amend the Consumer Council Ordinance.

[31 May 1985]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the

Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Consumer Council (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance 1985.

2.

Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended—

Amendment of section 6.

(a) in subsection (1), by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following (Cap. 216.)

"(b) a Vice-Chairman who shall be appointed by the Governor for a

term not exceeding 2 years; and";

(b) in subsections (2), (3) and (4), by inserting after "Chairman" wherever it

occurs the following—

(c) by deleting subsection (5).

", Vice-Chairman"; and

Section 7 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) in subsection (1), by deleting "or the Chairman" and substituting the

following-

", the Chairman or in his absence, the Vice-Chairman"; and

"

(b) in subsection (2)(b), by deleting "or acting Chairman" and substituting the

following--

"or in his absence, the Vice-Chairman".

4. Section 10 of the principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) in subsection (1), by deleting "an Executive Director to act as its chief

executive." and substituting the following-

"a person to hold the office of Chief Executive."; and

(b) in subsection (4), by deleting “Executive Director” wherever it occurs and

substituting the following-

"Chief Executive”.
