Qualifications

Candidates should :

(a) have resided in Hong Kong for not less than seven years;

(b) have a good honours degree, i.e. First or Second Class

Honours Degree from a Hong Kong or British university or

equivalent; or a Masters Degree from a recognised

institution; and

(c) have knowledge of English and Chinese.

Pay

$10,315 - $21,555 per month.

Incremental credit may be given for

experience comparable to that of the Administrative Service.

Training -

Induction courses and departmental visits followed by on-the-job

training. Locally educated officers will normally be sent on full

pay for one academic year to Oxford or Cambridge University.

Prospects -

Promotion prospects are good. Officers may reach the level of Head,

Deputy Head and Assistant Head of Department and their equivalents

in the Government Secretariat, with salaries up to $53,500 per month.
