They were also concerned about family reunions. As you know we have, at your suggestion, been re-submitting some applications for family reunions that had been refused in the hope that, in the light of the SCORRI report, you might be able to reconsider them. When we met you indicated that these might be dealt with, not individually, but together. We were happy to accept that, believing that the overall decision would be made by the summer. Now that there is to be a substantial delay we have become increasingly concerned about the strain put upon families in Britain who know that their applications have been re-presented to the Home Office and who are waiting to hear whether or not they have been accepted. May we raise with you the possibility that this matter might be resolved sooner rather than later in order to give the families involved a clearer understanding of how they stand.
