Correspondence with Elsie Elliott

As promised in my telno 556 I enclose copies of the exchange, whose beginning you will recall. The indefatigable Mrs Elliott will undoubtedly continue:

(a)

(b)

to believe in the moral, if not the intellectual, corruption of the Hong Kong Government; and

to seek the last word.

I doubt if we can ever win with her. Even though we continue to rebut her allegations or ask her to substantiate them, a public debate of this sort will always favour the Mrs Elliotts of this world.

Unless you wish to be kept up to date, I shall not send further correspondence. In any event, as you can see from her latest letter, she is carrying the fight to Westminster.

yours,

Ken
