The Children Fund has already announced its readiness to accept a further number of unaccompanied minors. With regard to the "diplomatic offensive", I should like to mention that UNHCR has already perhaps gone beyond its brief in lobbying other resettlement countries on the basis of what the High Commissioner had been given to understand by Ministers Luce and Waddington during his last visit to London. I assume that HMG's delegation at the present Executive Committee meeting in Geneva will further clarify its expectations to other resettlement countries and UNHCR will certainly do its best to strengthen the point with regard to an urgent solution to the special problems in Hong Kong.
