1. Mr Luce agrees with Mr Ehrman's submission of 30 August, and is content with the draft letter to Mr Brittan's Private Secretary.
2.
On recommendation 5(iii), he considers that the Home Office's revised formula is just wearable, but that it will be necessary to follow it up with a carefully coordinated international appeal on resettlement.
3. On timing, Mr Luce believes that it will be essential to publish HMG's reply to SCORRI no later than 26 September, as Mr Ehrman recommends.
