Thank you for your letter of 14 May about the Home Affairs Committee's recommendations relating to Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong. As I said in both the recent Adjournment Debates, we are considering the report very carefully, in consultation with the Home Office, and will reply to Parliament as soon as possible. As you will appreciate, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on the recommendations at this stage.
I am grateful for your offer to provide information about the availability of your member agencies to assist in implementaion of the recommendations. We shall certainly keep this offer closely in mind.
