Thank you for your letter of 22 April to

Timothy Raison about the Sub-Committee on Race Relations

and Immigration (SCORRI) report on refugees. As the

Minister responsible for South East Asian affairs, it

falls to me to reply.

As I am sure you are aware, our initial response on

the report's recommendations must be to Parliament. It

would therefore be inappropriate for Ministers or

officials to make any public comment that appeared to

anticipate that reply. However I enclose copies of the

FCO's written evidence to SCORRI and of the oral

which I gave to the Sub-Committee on 4 February.
