Over the last year considerable progress has been made in the negotiations, between the Hong Kong Nuclear Investment Company and their Chinese counterparts, to set up a Joint Venture Company to own and operate the planned Daya Bay nuclear power station. The detailed contractual arrangements that will provide for the sale of electricity to Hong Kong are also being worked out. When these are complete, proposals will be submitted to the Government for formal approval.
