GOVERNMENT HOUSE
HONG KONG
10 December 1985
Dean immunsinn,
I have seen a copy of the statement put out
by the Commission on 6 December concerning the
acceptability of the future British National (Overseas) passport in Australia. I should like on behalf of the Hong Kong Government to thank you for this timely and helpful statement. It shows, if I may say so, a keen perception of the sensitivity and importance of this subject for the Hong Kong travelling public.
Given the history of good relations between Hong Kong and Australia, this move does not come as a complete surprise. But we are grateful for the renewed vote of confidence and for the care and consideration
underlying it.
Yours sincerely
Edwed fate
Ms. S. Baldwin,
Acting Commissioner for Australia
Harbour Centre
23-24 Floors 25 Harbour Road
Hong Kong
Governor
