Payments due from the HKG to the UKG by--way of contribution to the cost of the garrison will be

quarterly in mid-quarter, commencing

, on 15 May 1981 for the quarter 1 April 1981 to 30 June 1981 and thereafter, on every 15 August, 15 November, 15 February and 15 May (or in each case the last preceding UK banking day) for the succeeding respective quarters; and

in sterling, except in respect of those costs agreed to be paid in Hong Kong dollars and specified in paragraph 14 (a) of Annex B.

In accordance with the Statement of Works Procedures at Annex C, the two Governments will agree capital works and maintenance programmes fór the garrison which may include the purchase of buildings and which will be designed to ensure that the garrison is adequately, efficiently and rationally accommodated and otherwise provided for accordancé with normal UK Joint Service standards and scales for Hong Kong.

The capital works programmes, except where otherwise agreed by two Governments, will be undertaken by HKG initially at its own expense but subject to the contribution by the UKG which contribution will be set off periodically against the quarterly payments to be made by the HKG.

All fixed assets created by the capital works programme in Hong Kong under this MOU will revert to the HKG where it is agreed by the two Governments that they are
