* Drafting committee member Hu Sheng: The drafting of the Basic Law is an innovative job. It is significant to China's four modernisations as well as to the whole world.

secretariat will be set up under the drafting committee to shoulder the actual drafting work. It will be a standing body headed by Li Hou.

Poon Kwong-wai of FTU: The FTU will issue about 10 000 questionnaires to its members to collect the views on HK's political system and labour rights. The views would be reflected to the Basic Law drafting and consultative committees.
