A source quoted by the Financial Daily: The NCNA local branch has
submitted a proposal on the make-up of the Basic Law drafting committee to the HK and Macau Affairs
Office. Less than 15 people are on the list which include five to six veteran NPC and CPPCC delegates but no Umelco members.

Association vice-chairman Wong Kwok-wah: The future Basic Law should
stipulate clearly that the Western-style press
freedom should be maintained in HK.
