Director of China's HK and Macau Affairs Office Ji Pengfei: The BLCC is only a body set up to canvass and express to the BLDC people's views on the Basic Law and those who are not sitting on the consultative panel can still voice their opinions on the Basic Law.

BLDC member Dr Rayson Huang: Some HK members of the BLDC are expected to join the BLCC, increasing its membership beyond the original 150. The BLCC preparatory working group has no right to intervene in the dispute among the joint conference of labour groups on the Basic Law.
