The Express: The BLCC

cannot be said to be a

non-government body as its formation is initiated by the HK drafting members who themselves were appointed by the Chinese Government.

Meeting Point chairman

Lau Nai-keung: The BLCC should be accountable to the people of HK. The demarcation of community sectors and the number of BLCC seats allocated to each sector should be clearly spelt out.

(report) Oriental Daily News: An unnamed drafting member said press

commentaries which have been very critical of the drafting process only made HK people worry

more.

The HK Affairs Society: The business and financial sectors should get 20-25 per cent of the seats on the BLCC. Professionals should get 25-30 per cent, labour 10-15 per cent, civil servants 5 per cent, grassroots organisations 10-15 per cent, religious sector 5 per cent and political groups 8 per cent.
